Good Photography locations

(AM) or (PM) indicates the easiest time for the sun

1 Weymouth (King's Statue) - Portland (Southwell) Wyke Regis, Fortuneswell, Easton, Weston Mon-Sat every 10 mins

Sundays every 20 mins

- A mixture of Volvo B7RLEs and Wright Streetlite Max PVR 8 to 9 King's Statue is difficult for route 1 as they arrive from the south west, against the sun. Shots from the top of the top of Portland are excellent with a backdrop of Chessil Bay. Shots in Portland are possible too throughout the day, as the buses complete a circular route.
2 Weymouth (King's Statue) - Littlemoor Radipole, Broadwey Mon-Sat every 10mins

Sundays every 20mins

- Wright Streetlite DF PVR 5 King's Statue on arrival or turn, not on stand
3  Weymouth (Debenhams / Commercial St) - Westham (Hereford Road) ASDA Weymouth, Fiveways Mon-Sat every 20mins

Sundays hourly

Interworks with route 8 Optare Solo SR. Also usually sees the 'spare' Streetlite - 47410. PVR 4 (comibined with route 8) Depot AM, Commercial Road PM, Town Bridge PM
4  Weymouth (King's Statue) - Preston Overcombe Corner Mon-Sat every 20mins combined. The 4A is hourly

Sundays - route 4 hourly

The 00' departure on route 4 then goes onto the 40' 4A

Each bus moves round one 'departure' cycle every time it does a round trip.

Optare Solo SR PVR 2 King's Statue on arrival or turn, not on stand. There are also shots available along the Esplanade at Weymouth as buses arrive into the town centre.
4A Weymouth (King's Statue) - Sutton Poyntz
8 Weymouth (Debenhams) - Chickerell ASDA, Fiveways Mon-Sat every 20mins

Sundays hourly

Interworks with route 3 Optare Solo SR. Also usually sees the 'spare' Streetlite - 47410. PVR 4 (comibined with route 3) Depot AM, Commercial Road PM, Town Bridge PM, Chickerell possible but only from one direction
10 Weymouth (King's Statue) - Dorchester Radipole, Upwey  Mon - Sat every 10mins

Sunday every 30 minutes

- Volvo B7RLE PVR 8 (may only be 7, but this would be a very tight turn-around). King's Statue & Esplanade on arrival, travelling south from Dorchester to Weymouth. Shots in Dorchester are difficult due to sun - avoid town centre as the buses stop on a north facing road. Therefore, all shots are against the sun.

Jurassic Coaster

Poundbury, Bridport, Charmouth, Lyme Regis Mon - Sat hourly

Sunday no service

Interworks with the X53 to give half hourly frequency Bridport - Axminster Scania Omnidekka and Volvo B9TLs (used interchangeably) PVR 4 (on its own - with interworking, this would increase) Dorchester is best when cloudy, Dorchester South stn is ok as buses turn, Bridport coach station & town centre throughout the day, Charmouth (one direction only depending on when you arrive), Lyme Regis (better AM), Axminster at any time of day
X52 Bridport - Exeter

Jurassic Coaster

Chideock, Morecombelake Charmouth, Lyme Regis, Seaton, Beer Mon - Sat every 2 hours - Scania Omnidekka and Volvo B9TLs (used interchangeably). May also be fleet-livered Volvo B7TL PVR 2 Wonderful countryside shots available at different ends of the route - I particularly recommend between Bridport and Seaton , although I've never been myself. Shots possible at Weymouth King's Statue, West Bay (buses use turning circle), Bridport (various times of day), Charmouth, Lyme Regis (better AM), Seaton (throughout day), Beer (pm), Exeter (depends where you stand, but most ok throughout day).
X53 Weymouth & Bridport - Axminster

Jurassic Coaster

Chickerell, Abbotsbury, West Bay, Bridport, Charmouth, Lyme Regis

Only serves Weymouth every 2 hours

Mon - Sat hourly between Bridport & Axminster

Sunday every 2 hours

Interworks with the X53 to give half hourly frequency Bridport - Axminster Scania Omnidekka and Volvo B9TLs (used interchangeably) PVR 4 (on its own - with interworking, this would increase) Wonderful countryside shots available at different ends of the route - I particularly recommend between Bridport and Lyme Regis , although I've never been myself.
